Meet Dr. Samuel Black

Dr. Samuel Black is originally from Charleston, SC. Currently, he resides in Forest, VA with his wife Elena, an orthodontist, and their two children. His educational experiences include receiving a Bachelor of the Arts (BA) degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of South Carolina. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Kentucky Dental School, and both a Ph.D. in Oral Biology and a certificate of advanced graduate studies (CAGS) in Endodontics at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Following his education, Dr. Black worked for two years as an Assistant Professor at the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA teaching pre-doctoral Biochemistry and clinical Endodontics.
He and his family then moved to Lynchburg, VA in 2011. In addition to Dr. Black’s extensive educational background and work history, he has published articles in respected, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Black enjoys reading scientific literature and staying current with the latest technological advancements in Endodontics and Sleep Apnea. It is through his relentless pursuit of these advancements in his field that he can provide the most comprehensive care possible for his patients. He also enjoys laughing, funny movies, happy patients and playing with his children.
